About Cheryle O’Donnell
I am an entomologist currently employed as a National Taxonomic Specialist for Thysanoptera and Psylloidea. Working in the sciences exercises one of my passions and only one section of my brain. Another strong passion is working with clay. Sculpting and throwing on the wheel allows me to express my creative side and is a great tension tamer. I use this artistic medium to assist in teaching entomology to children, adults, colleagues and other artists. I have taught students how rewarding working with clay can be as they learn to build practical and artistic pieces and I receive great pleasure watching students who feel they are ‘not artist’ create pieces that they are proud to share with family and friends.
