I was born and raised in Maryland, lived in Catonsville for many years, and recently moved to a condo in Reisterstown. Until 20 years ago, I showed no interest in creating art, although I loved buying it. I began by stringing beads into jewelry for my family and friends, and they still get many of my creations. About 15 years ago I discovered the many stitches of beadweaving; peyote was the first one I taught myself. Over the years since I’ve bought many books and explored many more stitches. My jewelry pieces are sewed together with needle and thread one or a few beads at a time. I bead because it’s fun, sometimes relaxing, and completely absorbing. It’s fun to choose and play with beads, and I don’t seem to be able to stop.
